Edit the facet overview page

In this guide, you will learn the steps and best practices for editing the facet overview page on Arla Global Platform, including updating default fields for facet pages, populating the facet overview page with content and working with facet-related block components.

Facet overview page

The facet overview page serves as the main overview page for all specific facet- and recipe pages with options for search, filtering, and curated content for users to locate and interact with recipe content. It’s edited using the Optimizely for specific platforms onboarded to the facet functionality.

How to login:

  1. Go to the Optimizely login URL and use your Arla credentials to log in. Depending on the website, this URL usually follows this pattern, https://edit.arla.xx/cms/cms
  2. Use the site tree or the search function in the left panel to locate the facet overview page; this page is usually named "recipes" in the local language.

Edit the hero area

To review and update the content in the hero area of the facet overview page, use to the following fields under the “Hero” tab: 

Step 1

Use the "Heading" and "Preamble" fields to adjust the text in the hero area.

Use "Background image" to update the image. Image should be .jpg in 16:9 ratio, min. 1920×1080. It will be automatically resized to fit the user screen size.

(Optional) The "Shared non-zero facet background image" acts as a fallback on facet pages where the hero image can't be pulled from the first recipe.

Step 2

Use the "No recipe results title" and "No recipe results description" fields to update the message shown when no recipes match the selected tags.

In the "Recommended tags" section, use the search field to add highlighted tags that appear as suggestions beneath the search bar on the facet overview page.

Edit default fields

Under the "Information" tab, you’ll find default fields related to various functionalities of the facet overview page and specific facet pages. These fields can be edited at any time.

The list of default fields:

  1. Search facet title – Header for facet search results in the search box when users search from the hero area on facet pages.
  2. Search tags title – Header for tag search results in the same context.
  3. Recent search title – Header for recent search queries in the search dropdown.
  4. Facet zero kicker – Text displayed above the heading on the facet overview page.
  5. Specific facet kicker – Text displayed above the heading on specific facet pages.
  6. Total recipe count text ({count} = placeholder) – Heading above the recipe grid on facet pages.
  7. Rating sort option text – Label for the "Ratings" option in the sort dropdown above the recipe grid.
  8. Relevance sort option text – Label for the "Relevance" or "Popularity" sort option.
  9. Newest sort option text – Label for the "Latest" sort option.
  10. Heading font – Choose between the default Arla Interface font or Arla Strong.
  11. Search placeholder text – Default placeholder text in the hero area search box.
  12. Filters button text – Label for the button that opens the filter menu in the hero area.
  13. Tag menu heading – Heading in the filter menu opened via the filter button.
  14. Tag menu “Show more” text – Label for the “Show more” option in the filter menu.
  15. Tag menu “Show less” text – Label for the “Show less” option in the filter menu.
  16. Content area – A section for adding curated content to the facet overview page (see next section for details).

Set up the content area

On the facet overview page, you can add blocks to curate and highlight specific content. This is particularly useful for showcasing seasonal content, featured recipes, or key facet pages.

All supported block types can be used on the facet overview page. In addition, a few blocks are designed specifically for this context and are listed below.

To add blocks, scroll to the "Content area" field under the "Information" tab.

Use the circle facet carousel block

The circle facet carousel block is ideal for showcasing facet pages that contain a large number of recipes.

To use this block, complete the following steps:

Step 1

(Optional) Define an anchor to enable targeted anchor links specifically for the position of the block.

Define a heading.

Define the “Recipes count text”, eg “recipes” and select the maximum number of recipes to display in the heading, eg. 100. The number of recipes in each facet item will be displayed with this information.

Step 2

After creating the block, add items under “Facets”, ensuring each item has a heading and a selected facet page.

Use the facet related recipe carousel block

The facet related recipe carousel block provides multiple recipe suggestions based on a selected theme, chosen via a facet page.

To use this block, complete the following steps:

Step 1

(Optional) Define an anchor to enable targeted anchor links to the specific position of the block.

Define a heading.

Add a facet page using the search field.

Step 2

Define “Number of recipes to show” and "See more facets text”, eg. with “See more recipe collections” .

Note: Do not use the “Tags” section in this block, as this feature will be discontinued.

Use the facet groups block

The facet groups block organizes links by theme, offering users convenient navigation options while enhancing SEO through internal linking.

To use this block, configure the following fields:

  • (Optional) Define an anchor to enable targeted anchor links to the specific position of the block.
  • (Optional) Define a kicker text.
  • Define a heading.
  • Add up to 4 groups of facet pages by selecting from the tag groups in the dropdown menu  and define" Group title."
