Creating and adding content tags

Tagging is a key process for populating content in various placements across Arla platforms. It connects related pieces of content, which are then used to, for example, populate filters, display items in 'related' carousels, and automatically populate facet pages with recipes.

Tagging is carried out in the tagging section of Arla’s Editor Interface and applies to all content types within the digital ecosystem.

How to login:

  1. Go to Arla’s Editor Interface editor.arla.com and log in with your credentials.

How to

Create content tags

To start working with content tags, you first need to create them in the Tag Management section of the Editor Interface.

To create new content tags, follow these steps:

Step 1

In the Editor Interface, click the “tag” icon in the left-hand menu.

Use the search function or the tag group dropdown to look for specific tags.

Step 2

To create a new tag, click the “+” icon. Tags can be created at two levels:

  • As a parent tag, e.g. “Dinner”.
  • As a child tag under a parent, e.g. “Main course” under “Dinner”.

Step 3

Fill in the fields in the “Create new tag” box that appears on the right:

  • Tag name – the name of the tag as you want it to appear on the platform.
  • Tag slug – used for technical purposes. Ideally, this should match the tag name but formatted as a URL. For example, for “Main course”, the slug should be “main-course” (lowercase, no spaces or special characters).

Step 4

If needed, you can create a new tag group by clicking “Add new tag group” if the tag(s) you want to add don’t fit into any of the existing groups.

Step 5

When finished, click “Create” and then “Publish” to make the tag available for tagging a and display on the website.

How to

Add content tags to pages

After creating a new content tag, you also need to add content to the tag to be able to use the relation of the tags to display relevant content together.

To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1

In the Editor Interface, click the “content” icon in the left-hand menu.

Select the content type, you’re looking to add tags too, eg. “recipes”.

Step 2

Use the search function or scroll through the table to locate relevant content pages to which you can add tags.

The search field will suggest tags as you begin typing. Pressing Enter without selecting a suggestion from the dropdown will perform a free-text search. Free-text search can be particularly useful when trying to identify content that corresponds to a newly added tag.

Step 3

Once specific pages have been identified, there are two ways to edit tags:

  • Adding tags to individual pages: Expand the relevant page and select “Tagging”. From there, you can search for, add, or remove content tags.

Step 3

Once specific pages have been identified, there are two ways to edit tags:

  • Bulk tagging multiple pages: Tick the checkboxes next to the appropriate pages to which you want to add tags. This will open a tag editing overlay, where you can click “Edit” to add or remove tags in bulk.

Step 4

To finalize bulk tagging, press “Continue”.
